Banking Overview
The Bank of Namibia is the country's central bank, tasked with issuing bank notes and coins and serves as the foreign exchange authority and banker to government and commercial banks, while acting as the supervisory authority on financial institutions and monetary matters in the country.
There are four commercial banks and one Micro-finance bank (Fides Bank Namibia Limited) that operate in Namibia, these are:

Note: All banks are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
The banks are connected to major international communication networks, ensuring fast and efficient transfers of funds to and from other centres in the world.
The Agribank of Namibia assists the domestic agriculture sector in the country, while the Development Bank of Namibia assists small and medium size business enterprises.
