Procedure:You can apply for your National ID Card at any office of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration (MHAI). All applications are sent to the MHAI head office in Windhoek for further processing. Your fingerprints will be matched with those already on record or entered into the National Population Registration System. Your application will then be processed and once issued, your ID card will be forwarded to the office where you applied for you to collect. Correcting errors on your ID Card: If the ID card issued to you has errors pertaining to your personal particulars, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration will replace the ID Card at no cost. Application should be submitted at any of the Ministries offices to make the necessary corrections. As part of the application, proof of the error should be provided, showing the correct information.
