Child Disability Grant (Special Maintenance Grant)

 

The program aims to ensure the well–being of children with disability by providing Child State Disability Grants. Uplift the livelihood of families taking care of these children with disability. It enables the caretaker to provide care for children with disability better and maintain their livelihoods.

Who qualifies?

  • Children aged below 16 years and medically diagnosed by a state doctor as being temporarily or permanently disabled.
  • Namibian citizenship or permanent residence if not born in Namibia.

How to apply

  • Application for Child Disability grant must be made in person at a constituency or regional office of the Ministry.
  • Ministry staff will provide the appropriate application form and assist the applicant to complete it.

Registration period

  • Every day Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM

Required documents

  1. Certified copy of the child’s full birth certificate
  2. Certified copy of parent (s) identity document and birth certificate
  3. Medical report by State doctor
  4. Social worker’s report
  5. Application by the procurator (caretaker/guardian)
  6. Birth certificate of the child

Benefit/service provided

Monthly cash of N$1600 per beneficiary
