Shot Term Emergency Grant
The program is designed for Emergencies such as accidental loss of child’ family, home, or possessions as a result of natural disaster and not covered by other state relief, armed conflict, and illness of the child’s financial provider.
Who qualifies?
- Open to all Namibians,
- For Children below 18 years
How to apply
- The application must be made in writing, but there is no special form for applying for these grants.
- It must be delivered in person at a constituency or regional office of the Ministry.
Registration period
Every day Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM.
Registration is open throughout the year and Emergency aid is payable for a maximum period of three months.
Required documents
- Certified copy of the applicant’s ID
- Emergency aid application
- Certified copy of the full birth certificate of the child
- Proof of child’s citizenship or permanent residence
- The motivation for the need for assistance
- Details of how payment or in-kind assistance should be made.
Benefit/service provided
N$350 per HH/per month for a maximum of 3 months, plus in-kind (if applicable)
